Climate Project Alliance launches We Can Solve It campaign
Finally! I thought this would never happen. But what took them so long? Al Gore’s Alliance for Climate Protection has launched its grassroots initiative. The We campaign’s goal is to empower people to take action to fight global change. You can create group and share your own initiatives with others.
But how is “We” different from treehugger.com, care2.com or idealist.org? For one, the main – and only it seems – focus is on energy. “We” offers you to spread the word, advocate for change, build a community and to learn how to minimize your impact, all this from a climate crisis/change/ global warming perspective. The second main difference, and, in my opinion key to the campaign positioning and success is “We” is a portal to “The Climate Project” and not to “you”. You see short videos of presenters of The Climate Project, success stories and so on, but contrary to other green community sites, this is one does not give as much of a voice to “us” as it could have had. But I might be wrong, the site claims 1,128,849 million people have joined. Joined what exactly? But it’s about you so … will you start a “We” group?
