It started as a tease but hey, why not endorsing a candidate on this blog? So here is my candidate: Barack Obama.

“Well, I don’t believe that climate change is just an issue that’s convenient to bring up during a campaign. I believe it’s one of the greatest moral challenges of our generation.” Presidential candidate Barack Obama.

So do I.

Although Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama have similar plans to fight climate change and support the research and implementation of clean energy technologies, I am more confident in Barack Obama’s independence, courage and ability to unify and lead us on the road towards a cleaner and safer world:
- During his tenure as Illinois Senator, the state has been a leader in developing and implementing green and sustainable practices. He has brought together people with different agendas who have achieved important environmental victories; demonstrating simple change can lead to a safer and healthier environment and better productivity.
- Illinois has enacted among the strongest renewable energy portfolio standards legislation in the nation.
- In congress, he has reached over the aisle and, with Senator Richard Lugar, has introduced the Fuel Economy Reform Act that was ultimately adopted by congress and signed by the president.
- Senator Obama has led the effort to establish a National Low Carbon Fuels Standard.

If his recent achievements speak a lot for his leadership skills, I also believe his plans will give us the dynamic we need to realize we can thrive while reducing the toxic burden we put on ourselves and the environment.

Note: Thanks to the New York Time for this great picture.
